Questions, answered
Is VDOAPP really free?
Yes. The editor is free to use with no account, no time limit and no watermark on your exports. We keep it free by showing ads on our website and guide pages — never inside the editor or on your videos.
Are my videos uploaded anywhere?
No. All editing and exporting happens inside your browser on your own device. Your videos, photos and recordings are never uploaded to our servers.
Can I edit iPhone videos?
Yes. Add your iPhone .MOV videos straight from the Photos app in Safari, or from your computer in Chrome or Safari. iPhones record in HEVC (H.265) by default, which a few browsers can't decode — if a clip won't open, try another browser or see our iPhone video guide.
Do I need to install anything?
No. VDOAPP runs in any recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on computers and on phones. There is no app or plug-in to install.
What format are exported videos?
Videos export as MP4 in browsers that support it (recent Chrome, Edge and Safari) and as WebM otherwise. You can also save any single frame as a PNG image.
How long does exporting take?
Exporting happens in real time: the editor plays your timeline once while recording it, so a one-minute video takes about one minute. Keep the tab open and visible until it finishes.
Can I remove a green screen background?
Yes. Add your green screen clip as a picture-in-picture overlay and turn on Chroma key. Use the eyedropper to pick the exact backdrop colour, then adjust strength, edge softness and spill cleanup.
